Fifty-two Standard Sermons

Wesley's 52 Standard Sermons...as he approved them. "These sermons contain the substance of what I have been preaching...I am not conscious that there is any one point of doctrine...which is not here...laid before every Christian reader. Every serious man who peruses these will therefore see in the clearest manner what these doctrines are which I embrace and teach as the essentials of true religion." (From Wesley's Preface) This book of fifty-two sermons is considered the heart and life of John Wesley and the great movement of Methodism that girdled the globe and changed the world and its values. The sermons in this book furnished the model for the young preacher or circuit rider. Often they furnished him with the only theological training he had. The Bible, the Methodist hymnbook and Wesley's sermons were standard equipment for every Methodist preacher.
